CRPT × TRNAH create cinematic, organic atmospheres through entirely electronic instruments — much of it live-jammed. Where industrial music typically evokes dystopic urban scenes, their breathing soundscapes reminded jh0st that the fallout of industry is equally rural, hidden in landscapes away from mainstream view.

March 13

they say the sun will swallow the moon / global quakes disaster soon / but in this town, the end is every day

A dark industrial story about the social and economic destruction of a Virginia coal-mining town. In the early ’90s, K introduced jh0st to Appalachian communities of incredible lightness — right downstream from places of unbelievable darkness. March 13 is the B-side that Statik 3 never had: a journey into the failed town next door, where destitute villages served as drug trails feeding the backdoor dealings of DC’s political class. Casualties of a hollowed-out economy, too destitute to skim the substances they trafficked, preying on each other in ways the lyrics can only infer.

The raw lyrics were hidden away for decades during jh0st’s musical hiatus. Collaboration with CRPT and TRNAH unearthed them. The disenfranchised have always been here — a neglected but essential part of the American story. In the forgotten coal-mining towns, the end is every day.
