Raph Pierre was one of jh0st’s first SoundCloud connections — one of the platform’s guardian angels, always engaging across genres. When asked how he makes his tracks, he said: “It’s an immense frustration that I do not play any instruments. I tinker with samples and sounds and try to put together something that stands.”
That his elaborate, rich soundscapes are found rather than played is remarkable. KoE layers tracks through minute sonic brush strokes — a deep history of found sounds transformed into something new, unconstrained by genre or expectation. Why should musicians only be people trained on traditional instruments?

After hearing the sax and bass tracks, KoE freed himself from the original funk format and created an avant-garde flow of ebbing rhythms that bend space and time. Making music is not just about playing — it’s equally about listening.
